Jacqui Allen

Jacqui Allen, Deputy Director, Dept of Culture & Arts (WA)

Prior to joining government, Jacqui worked in the not-for-profit community sector specialising in regional performing arts service delivery. After six years with Country Arts WA, she was appointed as the Performing Arts Funding Officer with Arts WA (Department of Culture and the Arts).

Following a period working in the Policy section of the Department of Culture and the Arts, she was seconded to the office of then Arts Minister Hon Mike Board MLA in June 2000. In April 2001 she was employed as a Principal Policy Adviser to the Minister for Culture and the Arts and Youth in the new government, the Hon Sheila McHale MLA.

In December 2003, Jacqui returned to the Department as the Manager of Capital Works Planning, a position she held for 18 months prior to her appointment as Director of Cultural Development and Strategic Programs. In January 2009 she was appointed to the position of Deputy Director General where her primary responsibility is oversight of arts and culture funding, policy and programs for the Department.
