One Movement For Music offers artists multiple opportunities to take the stage and showcase their material to key industry executives at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival. One Movement For Music is working with Australian and International Governments, Art and Entertainment bodies plus key media partners to ensure artists have the best opportunities possible to be part of such a unique and exciting event.

SUBMISSION & SELECTION PLATFORMS

SONICBIDS - AUSTRALIAN ACTS SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

Details: A One Movement For Music Perth panel of experts will listen to and grade submissions according to a set of criteria established to determine the export readiness of acts. Criteria will include an assessment against areas such as technical ability, level of experience, originality, songwriting ability and overall artistic ability. A minimum of 3 Australian· bands will be selected to perform at One Movement Music Showcase Festival.
Who Can Apply?: Any contemporary Australian band.
Submit: Artist submissions are now open through Sonicbids. All submissions received to date are still valid but submissions are now being accepted online only.
Submissions Close: Tuesday 1st September
Winner: Winners will be notified by Friday 11th September and will be announced in the final round of Festival announcements!

SONICBIDS - INTERNATIONAL ACTS SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

Details: Similarly to the Australian band selection process through Sonicbids, a One Movement For Music panel of experts will listen to and grade International band submissions made through Sonicbids. Care of Sonicbids one North American band will be selected and offered US$4000 funding towards getting themselves to Perth to perform at One Movement Music Showcase Festival. Additionally other international act submissions will be considered for further spots on One Movement Music Festival. So keep uploading your EPKs!
Who Can Apply?: Any contemporary International band from around the world.
Submit: Artist submissions are now open through Sonicbids. All submissions received to date are still valid but submissions are now being accepted online only.

ARTS VICTORIA - VICTORIA ROCKS SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

Details: Scholarships will be available for up to five artists (musicians) and/or managers to attend One Movement For Music in Perth care of Arts Victoria.
Who Can Apply?: Any Victorian contemporary music artist or manager.
Submit: Submissions are now open through the Arts Victoria website.
Submissions Close: Submissions are now closed.
Winner: Winners will be notified by Friday 28th August.

ARTS SOUTH AUSTRALIA SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

Details: One Movement For Music is accepting and evaluating submissions from South Australian artists and consequently will be choosing one successful applicant to perform at the One Movement Music Showcase Festival. One Movement For Music has worked with Arts South Australia to allow for the selected act to be exempt from regular funding rounds and will be eligible to apply for funding assistance, to take advantage of the showcase opportunity, out-of-round.
Who Can Apply?: Any South Australian contemporary music artist.
Submit: Submissions can be emailed to sam@sunsetevents.com.au or submitted online via Sonicbids. Please note that any South Australian acts who have already submitted via Sonicbids will be considered. Please make sure you include your contact details, your band's bio, an EPK and/or online links to where we can check out your band's material.
Submissions Close: Submissions are now closed.
Winner: The winner will be notified by Friday 28th August 2009. The selected artist will be included in the third and final round of Festival announcements!

MusicNSW - SUPPORTED BY ARTS NSW SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

Details: One emerging and export-ready act from New South Wales will be selected to showcase to the national and international music industry at One Movement for Music, courtesy of funding from MusicNSW and Arts NSW. The selected NSW acts will be provided funding assistance of up to $5,000 from MusicNSW with Arts NSW assistance.
Who Can Apply?: Any NSW contemporary music artist.
Submit: Submissions are now open through Sonicbids! All Sonicbids submissions received to date from New South Wales acts will be considered for Music New South Wales support along with other opportunities available via Sonicbids. One Movement judges will work with MusicNSW to review and select a winning NSW submission.
Submissions Close: Friday 21st August '09
Winner: The winner will be notified by Monday 24th August. Selected artist will be included in the final round of Festival announcements!

Q MUSIC SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

Details: Q Music will offer two Queensland artists the opportunity to showcase at the One Movement Festival. Queensland's artists have been encouraged to submit through Q Music, a big supporter of developing music, the arts and their artists.
Who Can Apply?: Any Queensland music artist.
Submit: Submissions are now closed.
Submissions Close: Submissions are now closed.
Winner: Winners will be notified by Friday 17th July. Selected artists will be announced in the next round of Festival announcements!

STREET PRESS AUSTRALIA CLOSED

Details: Street Press Australia (SPA) will call on the expertise of their state editors to select their favourite Australian band and support them in the fight for a coveted spot in front of the international music industry at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival. Each state editor from SPA's mags including Inpress Magazine, Drum Media Sydney, Drum Media Perth, Time Off and Rip It Up will choose two bands they believe have earned the right for such a great opportunity. Over the coming weeks SPA will profile each band; stating why the editor believes they deserve the opportunity. The editors will then meet to debate the winner. The winner will grace the cover nationally and their journey followed by SPA and their readers as they prepare for what may be the biggest opportunity in their career thus far. Check out SPA over the coming weeks for bands battling it out for the SPA selection.
Who Can Apply?: All Australia bands big and small will be considered by Street Press Australia editors.
Submit: Not applicable. Selection will be at the discretion of SPA state editors.
Submissions Close: N/A.
Winner: The selected winner will grace national SPA covers week commencing September 6 and be part of One Movement for Music's third and final round of Artist announcements!

AUSTRALIAN INDIGENOUS MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP CLOSED

Details: OMFM is inviting indigenous artists from across Australia to apply for the Australian Indigenous Music Scholarship, which will provide the opportunity to showcase at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival as well as gain professional and performance development experience in the studio.
The program has also received strong support from the music industry with Mark Grose (Managing Director Skinnyfish Music and label and manager of Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (chair), Alan Pigram (Pigram Brothers), Shane Howard (Goanna Music) and Rhoda Roberts (Artistic Director, The Dreaming Festival) forming the assessment panel.
Acts from each participating state and territory will be selected by the panel to join the One Movement Showcase Music Festival. Each act will also be offered studio time whilst in Perth, receive some recording time and tutoring from a professional producer.
Who Can Apply?: Indigenous artists across Australia.
Submit: Interested artists are invited to apply now by sending a short biography, MP3 and photograph to info@onemovementmusic.com with 'AIMS Application' and the artist name in the subject line.
Submissions Close: Week beginning September 21.
Panel finalises winner from each State: September 28.
Announcement of finalist from each State: September 28.
Winner: A panel will select one of the acts from the participating states and territories as an overall winner for the program. This act will receive additional development opportunities including the chance to record a full album with a professional producer to be manufactured, distributed and marketed. Album distribution is supported by Skinnyfish Music and MGM Distribution.


CHANNEL V/CHANNEL U: CLOSED

Details: Channel U, in conjunction with OMFM, are giving one band/artist the chance to play live at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.
Submit: For all clips that have been submitted to date and for the month of September.
Submissions Close: Wednesday, September 30th, 09.
Winner: Channel [V] will judge the best clip and send the winning band to Perth to showcase their talents.

Details: In line with Nova’s unsigned support, the network will be selecting one of the September Unsigned feature artists to perform at the One Movement Showcase Music Festival.

 

MYSPACE: CLOSED
Details: A One Movement For Music Perth panel of experts will listen to and grade submissions according to a set of criteria established to determine the export readiness of acts. Criteria will include an assessment against areas such as technical ability, level of experience, originality, song writing ability and overall artistic ability.
Who Can Apply?: Any contemporary Australian band with a MySpace page.
Submit: To enter the competition bands should
•    Have a MySpace profile page
•    Have tracks uploaded to their MySpace profile
•    Have a video of them performing uploaded to their MySpace profile
•    Add One Movement MySpace Profile
•    Update their MySpace status saying why their band should play at One Movement with a link back to One Movement profile
Submissions Close: 5:00PM (AEST) Friday 2nd October.
Winner: Winners will be notified by Friday 9th October.

Song Writing Skills
How developed, sophisticated and unique are your song witting skills? Are your skills well represented across all of your music?

Career Establishment
Do you have an established career? Do you have presence within the Australian Industry? Are you an emerging or export ready act?

Technical Ability
Do you possess musical technical ability and is this consistently represented?

Originality
Do you demonstrate unique and original material through your own style, sound and performance?

Overall Artistry
Do you encompass overall skills pertinent to a successful performing and/or recording career?

Further points of assessment:

- Quality of provided music/recordings;

- Touring experience in domestic market and/or overseas;

- Specific career history and developments/achievements in domestic market and/or overseas;

- Radio airplay;

- Music video clip;

- Press exposure;

- Strong management team and/or record label support; and

- Developed fan base and/or rapport with fans.
