Emperors

Perth five-piece Emperors have just launched their new single "The River". Following on from the band’s out-of-the-blue debut track "Favourite Colours", which received widespread national airplay, "The River" takes a darker approach than its predecessor while still capturing the big guitars and killer harmonies that have seen the band cause such a stir in its short existence.

The single package is available on iTunes and at live shows, and includes "Favourite Colours" as a bonus track, in both its full-pelt version and an atmospheric acoustic take on the song.

After winning Triple J Unearthed earlier this year, Emperors played the Perth Big Day Out on only their 10th gig. They've since played alongside the likes of The Big Pink, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Jebediah, British India and Sugar Army, and made an appearance at RTR FM’s In The Pines festival.

In April, the band was featured in Rolling Stone magazine as one of ‘13 Aussie Acts To Watch In 2010’ and recently took out the WAMI award for Most Promising New Act.
