Kadangyan (PHL)

Kadangyan is a five-piece band that formed in 2000 in Cebu City. Their music is a fusion of Filipino ethnic beats and rock music, using indigenous instruments and adding modern drums and bass guitar. They first came together as a group of visual and performing artists and found a connection through music and their devotion to Philippine culture.

Many of their songs have come together after a series of meditations, with the lyrics coming from the natural attributes of true songwriters with a need to tell a story while inspiring to make change and bring awareness to our environment. Through their unique music Kadangyan manages to touch the human spirit.

In 2009, Kadangyan were finalists in the Asian-wide music talent show Sutasi where they were selected as the People's Choice winners for South East Asia.

Since then, the band has been performing at many events across Asia while also busy writing a new English album as well as building a stock pile of their amazing artworks, jewellery and hand made indigenous instruments (made from the fallen trees of the Philippine jungles).

One Movement is the first western performance of this truly inspiring band who strongly believe “in One People and One World, and that the beauty of every country in this world is its own true culture”.
